culmination

Floating through a slight abyss my eyes felt tainted by the color of all this dancing underwater. Voices echoed and resonated in this lovely calm, pulsing divisions and mathematicians creating the shelves of insanity. This lovely concept, underwater, discothèque. It was a new kind of “everything to me“.

We ran for a couple of days or so with all this unstoppable with all this new found sensation this new energetic problematic disposition. We declared and we proclaimed and we considered. It was the enlightening of our days. You liked to look and I liked to look away- the balance created a certain substance of unrequited perfection. Mysteries infallible hung over our eyeshades and we saw as through tainted glass all the time. And you became my “everything to me”.

It was a while later, lifetimes or so, days in and days out. “Be back at lunch” signs hung in our doorways for hours at times because there was other things taking up our time. In five minutes, in three weeks, tomorrow afternoon maybe. It was a new thought. It became ever tomorrow, till the whole rest of our time spaces and calendar years were to be preoccupied till the day we died. The mysteries were all gone. I forgot how I used to wonder. And there was no longer anything to me.

Empty wedding beds. Closed study room doors and occupied leather chairs. Kitchen lights, microwave lifestyles, freezers gorged in TV dinners. We were no longer blind. The candles were not lit in years. An occasional glancing flashback remembrance but nothing more. The photo albums grew fewer and few till naught at all and the ancient lovers manuscripts were a time forgotten. We lay not side by side anymore. Till side by side we lay in graves.
